Typical State School

by Edwin D.

For the price of coming here, it is quite cheap. A great place to receive an bachelor degree but that is it. A commuter school by choice as a huge mega complex of parking lots were built in the last few years. I graduated here in 1989 and this campus has changed since then. 20 years ago, there was grasses to sit down and intramural sports were played next to Oviattt Library. Speaking of library, we use to have two libraries but it was reduced to one. The science library became a classroom and Oviatt Library was expanded and now house this behemouth of a book retrieval system. It is automated but i cringe on the thought if a shutdown occurs, say a malfunction of some sort. Anyway, the class iszes are small except of course for the popular classes like Music Appreciation or Jazz Appreciation, basket weaving (just kidding)... Being an alumni of this prestigious college, if you can't get in to the high standards of UCLA,CSUN isn't a bad place to spend the next 4 years of your life. You will get an education there but try to finish it as quickly as possible.

Good-,looking campus

by Lisa S.

Though the neighborhood is nothing to look at, CSUN's campus is very pretty for a stateschool. Big open grassy fields, some newer buildings, a brand-new multi-level parking structure nearly finished, student food courts and plenty of tables and chairs. Like in all schools, students here have a range of experiences, but you can get a good education here if you focus.
